Saskatoon Diving Club

Bingo

Bingo fundraising plays a crucial role in supporting the Saskatoon Diving Club’s programs and athletes. By working bingo events, members and their families help generate funds that directly contribute to the development of our divers, maintain club operations, and support participation in competitions.

Volunteering at bingo sessions is a simple yet impactful way to support the club while connecting with fellow members. Whether you’re new to bingo or a seasoned volunteer, your time and effort make a significant difference.

Learn more about how to get involved, what to expect, and how your contribution supports our mission. Thank you for helping us build a thriving diving community!

Notes:

There are a couple of things to remember for bingo sign-up. To sign-up for any upcoming bingo’s please:

  1. Send an email stating which bingo’s you would like to work and the session you would like to work; evening, late night, or double. My email address is [email protected]. No verbal confirmations will be given.
  2. As emails come in, that is the order that you will be placed on the bingo roster till it is full. So please sign up early if you know you want to work a bingo.
  3. Every family can sign up for 2 people per bingo up to 2 weeks prior to the bingo date. After that 2-week deadline, anyone wanting to sign up more than 2 people will be given the opportunity before any hires are made. You can indicate in your email if you wish to have 3 people at bingo, and Lori will confirm after the 2-week deadline whether that is possible.
  4. Because I can’t have everyone working the evening session of bingo, everyone going home, and hiring new people to work late night, those asking for a double session will be given first pick, then those working single sessions.
  5. For those families that are looking to do extra bingo’s once you have completed yours, everyone that still owes bingo’s will be given first priority and then I will fill the rest of you in later.
  6. The bingo hall is called City Centre Bingo: 310 22 St W, Saskatoon, SK S7M 5P2, and is located at 22nd Street and Avenue C, in the same parking lot as the Great Buffet of China. Single early and double bingo workers need to arrive by 4:45pm; and single late workers need to arrive by 8:45pm.

Bingo Requirements

  • Novice: 6 bingos
  • Pre-National: 6 bingos
  • JD 1: 2 bingos
  • JD 2 and 3: 4 bingos
  • Junior Development National: 6 bingos
  • Junior Elite National: 8 bingos

Bingo Buyout Policy

  1. The number of bingos that you are required to work is dependent on the level of training the athlete participates in.
  2. Families with two divers registered in a session, who both have bingo commitments as part of their class fees, will receive a reduction of one bingo each that they are required to work.
  3. Families with three or more divers registered in a session will receive a reduction of one bingo each that they are required to work, if all three divers are required to work bingos.
  4. A penalty of $200 will be charged in the event that you do not show up for a bingo session you have agreed to work. If you are unable to work a bingo you are signed up for, you must notify the Bingo Coordinator at least 48 hours prior to the bingo(s) you are scheduled to work. When less than 48 hours notice is given to the Bingo Coordinator, you will be considered a “No Show” and a $200 penalty will be charged. If you are scheduled to work more than two bingos (i.e. have friends or family scheduled to work the bingos with you), you will be expected pay an additional $200 penalty for each bingo that was not worked as scheduled.
  5. The adult family members of each athlete are required to sign up for working the bingos as posted on the website. If you are unable to work your bingo commitments, you have the following two options: arrange for a family member or friend to work them for you or buyout your bingo commitments. When no club members with outstanding bingo obligations are available to work, members who have already fulfilled their bingo obligations and have requested that their name be put on a waiting list to work additional bingos will be called. These members will be paid $75 to work the extra bingo. This $75 payment is meant to encourage club members to participate in working bingos for the club, as well as provide an opportunity for club members to off-set their diving expenses. Within 1 week of a bingo date, if there are still not enough club members available to fill that bingo roster, the Bingo Coordinator will arrange with the bingo hall to have their employees work it for us. These workers are paid $50. Note: This opportunity to work additional bingos is administered under the following restriction: any member that hasn’t fulfilled their bingo commitments takes precedence over those that have.
  6. The Saskatoon Diving Club will not be held responsible for reminding you of your bingo commitments. Once you have signed up for a bingo, the Bingo Coordinator will attempt to contact you and remind you of the bingo date, but the information is posted at the locations mentioned above, and it is your responsibility to make arrangements to either work your bingos or to buy them out. Bingo Buyout: $150 per bingo.

What People Are Saying

I decided to try diving as an adult, and I couldn’t be happier. The supportive atmosphere made me feel welcome, and I’ve discovered a new passion while staying active.

It is such a pleasure to watch my daughter do what she loves and cheer her along on her journey. Her dedication, work ethic, and attitude are inspiring. We see how hard her coaches work to support her big goals and we are so grateful.

Through the course of my son's time with the Saskatoon Diving Club, he's had a tremendous selection of coaches to guide him. His physical growth in the sport has been pretty amazing to watch, while simultaneously seeing him developing the character traits to be a hard working, motivated, dedicated, supportive, and happy young athlete.
